Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in cinemas now.

Interview with Designer: Sabrina Goh //

1. How do you describe yourself in 3 words?

Passionate, Persistent, Positive.

2. What do you love about what you do?

I love designing, and the sense of fulfilment that I get when I see people loving and enjoying what I create. Through our concept store, we are able to bring many local fashion and lifestyle brands together and join forces to give a voice that is uniquely Singaporean.

3. What is your biggest hurdle in developing your passion, and how did you overcome it?

My biggest hurdle would be convincing people about my work. In order to do this, I realised I had to be the first to believe in my own creations.

4. Have you faced a situation where you were doing something that no one else has done or dared to do, or something that people were against? Tell us about it and how do you face it?

The biggest thing that people were against was the use of our brand name – Elohim. Elohim means God, Creator, The Almighty. Many people questioned my choice of brand name, but I was reminded of why I created this brand in the first place – to release the blessing of what God has blessed me through creativity.

5. Can you share with us your most rewarding moment you have had while working on your passion? How did you achieve it?

It was extremely rewarding when I saw confidence in my clients’ eyes when they wore our collection.

6. What advice would you give your younger self?

Be open minded, have a lion heart and unique strength.

7. What are you looking forward to most in Rogue One?

I’m looking forward to see Donnie Yen’s performance in Rogue One.
